When Mr. Nichols makes an unnerving self-discovery that causes him to spiral down a path of loneliness and hopeless despair, it’s up to Joshua and his cast of characters, including Larry the Lint and the Wonderbook, to show his best friend the joy in being yourself. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it’s time one again for our Spring Pantomime! This time around we’ll be following the (mis)adventures of Jack and friends as they take the path much less traveled by, and learn some valuable lessons along the way…!!! Edward Speck and Josh Shack have planned another silly, playful Spring Panto that's full of surprises. Follow the Theater in the Open flags from the Maudslay parking lot. Allow ten minutes to stroll to the site and $5 for parking ($6 for out of state vehicles).

CAM Kids: Mini Musicians

Cape Ann Museum hosts a family friendly session where attendees can try their hand at making their own musical instruments

With February vacation coming to a close, families looking for an enriching activity to get them out of the house are invited to the Cape Ann Museum’s Activity Center to try their hand at instrument making using recycled items, followed by an intimate musical experience with Kathleen and Jeremy Adams. The midday mini-concert & instrument demonstration portion of the program will be performed on the Adams harpsichord and chamber organ in the special exhibition, Voicing the Woods: Jeremy Adams, Instrument Maker, on view at the Cape Ann Museum from October 22, 2016 through February 26, 2017. Families are invited to join in with their newly fashioned musical creations.

The tree is lit up and the stockings are hung and Clara’s Christmas is perfect…except for her Uncle Drosselmeyer sitting up on that clock and the sudden rat infestation…sounds like panto time!Edward Speck and Joshua Shack return to direct another cracking holiday panto, this time seizing on Tchaikovsky’s classic holiday tale to do what panto does best: make a favorite old story new and particular to our place and time again. What does Clara’s magical journey have to teach us? How many nuts would a nutcracker crack if a nutcracker could crack nuts? Let’s find out! Come with us as panto and ballet collide in a delicious mix of sugar plums and pies-in-the-face, dance and comedy, fairies and snowballs, in A Nutcracker Panto!
