Spring Eggs Felting Workshop

Waldorf School in Beverly hosts a Spring Egg Felting workshop.

Spring is coming! Did you know that in many cultures all over the world, spring is celebrated with colored eggs? Join us to celebrate on Saturday, March 14, from 9:30am - 12:30pm. We will needle felt colorful eggs using soft, unspun wool fleece. Elizabeth Stubbs, a Waldorf early childhood teacher and artist will provide gentle, hands-on guidance to attendees. All skill levels welcome. $40 workshop fee includes instruction and materials and everyone will bring home at least 3 beautiful eggs. This workshop will take place at Waldorf School at Moraine Farm. Limited to 12 attendees, register soon! Adults only. We will also enjoy warm drinks and goodies and friendly conversation.

Finished in 2020, the CAM Green was used for innovative projects during the COVID Pandemic. The Museum is excited to be able to invite the public to explore this new community and cultural resource. Spend the day picnicking on the Green, learning about the historic houses, viewing art in the Janet + William Ellery James Center, and making art of your own!

Greater Newburyport Children's Chorus Spring Semester Auditions at Hope Church

The Greater Newburyport Children's Chorus is holding open auditions for singers currently in grades 4-8. The auditions are held in groups of up to 4 singers and do not require any musical preparation. Singers will be asked to sing familiar tunes, such as 'Happy Birthday'. No music preparation is needed - we make it a comfortable, low stress process. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can register for a specific time slot on the website - www.gncchorus.org.

Nature Walks for Tots at Joppa: What's in the Pond?

Explore the ponds of Woodsom Farm in Amesbury with Mass Audubon Joppa Flats Educators!

As spring arrives and settles in, Miss Lisa wants to take you through the woods, on the trails, and along the shore to look for creatures, explore, and play. We'll use our "science eyes" and "nature ears" for some outdoor family fun! The session will be spent exploring pond life at Woodsom Farm in Amesbury!

After reading a story about beavers, walk to Rockery Pond to see a real beaver lodge and dam, and look for signs of beavers such as chews and scent mounds. Find out why beaver teeth are orange and what they use their broad tails for. We may even try our luck at making our own beaver dam or lodge.

The Joppa Flats riverside yard will be our outdoor classroom for families every week! Let's learn about different animals and their habitats, discover the mysteries of weather and where animals go in winter, and do lots of hands-on science with songs, role play, and imagination.  This session will focus on birds that you'll find in your own backyard!

Family Pasta Making Workshop

Kids and familes will make homemade pasta together at this Appleton Cooks workshop in Ipswich Massachusetts!

Skip the pasta machine and get ready to use your hands to create orecchiette (little ears), cavatelli (dimpled pasta) and more with Chef Emily! This simple pasta dough has just three ingredients, and is easily shaped by both big and little hands. Parents and kids will work together to mix and knead their dough, shape the noodles, then share a delicious meal using local produce and meats from Appleton Farms. Chef Emily will use the finished pasta to demo an easy seasonal recipe and everyone will have time at the end to eat.
