Kids Learn to Ice Skate Registration

Learn to Skate, Cape Ann Skating Club Kids and Adults learn to skate in Hamilton

Get your young hockey or figure skater off to a great start and sign up today for the next learn to skate session with the Cape Ann Figure Skating Club. Adult classes are available too. Learn to skate lessons for all ages and abilities offered in Hamilton and Gloucester.

Several sessions are offered so that the skaters have an opportunity to progress through many skating levels while strengthening their skills. Upon completion of the LTS program, children may wish to continue in the Basic Skills program, which teaches the stroking and turning skills required for figure skating and hockey programs.

Join the Cape Ann Museum for a walking tour of Fitz Henry Lane's Gloucester for Trails & Sails. Stroll through this nineteenth century maritime artist's Gloucester neighborhood. Walk past some of the views captured in his landscape paintings and learn about Lane's active participation in the community. Finish at the Cape Ann Museum which is home to the preeminent collection of paintings and drawings by Fitz Henry Lane.

Whalemobile at Maritime Gloucester

The Whalemobile comes to Maritime Gloucester.

The Whalemobile is coming to Maritime Gloucester! Join whale naturalist Cynde McInnis for a very special Creature of the Week, featuring a life-sized inflatable humpback whale named Nile. Kids will develop an awareness of and fascination for whales that inspires them to care about the oceans and the wild world around us.  Great for PreK - 6 yrs with an adult.

Museum of Science Night Sky Program

Museum of Science will bring their portable planetarium to Sawyer Free Library

Please join us for the "Night Sky" as the Museum of Science brings their inflatable planetarium to City Hall. Kids can explore the night sky, learn about the stars nearby and get some useful tips for stargazing in the back yard. This program is for Children ages 6 and over. Please register. Fish Forensics

Learn how to identify fish using their DNA at Maritime Gloucester.

Unleash your inner detective with this unique opportunity. Get your hands dirty using state of the art technology to characterize a fish by its DNA and protein structures. Work with our own Mary Kay Taylor, and with Emily Chandler of the Large Pelagics Research Center (http://tunalab.org) to learn the latest techniques for identifying and labeling fish meat. This is our newest marine science class. Due to inquiries it has been opened to curious adults.

It is time to get out your dancing shoes. The waterfront party of last summer is back. The North Shore Jazz Project is pleased to present a joint fundraiser with the Maritime Gloucester, on August 4th, 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Gloucester’s beautiful waterfront.
