Manchester Bike and Pedestrian Committee together with Manchester-Essex Rotary Club are sponsoring a bike safety rodeo! Kids ages 5-14 are encouraged to bring their bikes for a bike and helmet safety check. This event will focus on safety tips and training, with an obstacle course and bike handling skills instruction. Snacks will be provided. Sign up via email, or on the day of the event!

The Ipswich Fire Department, Police Department, and Action Ambulance will be hosting a carseat checkpoint at fire headquarters. Come on in and get your car seat checked to see if it's properly installed and if you need a new one we have those as well thanks to a Grant provided to us From Institution For Savings. We will also have emergency vehicles here for the kids to be able to walk around and look at.

All children are welcome at Big Mike's Bikes first annual Kids' Bicycle Safety Day at O'Maley Innovation School in Gloucester! We will have an obstacle course that teaches hand signals and rules of the road, a free bicycle safety check, and great prizes like new helmets and bike lights! United States Coast Guard Station Gloucester will hold its annual Safe Boating Day Event on Saturday May 18th, to kick off National Safe Boating Week, which is May 18-25. The event is to promote boating safety and awareness.
The La Vida Rock Gym invites parents to learn how to belay! Belaying refers to a variety of techniques used in climbing to exert friction on a climbing rope to ensure the safety of the climber and to ensure that a falling climber does not fall very far. If you have a child interested in rock climbing and find yourself nervously watching as your child climbs, take this course! It will enable you to become the belayer and you will be able to identify unsafe belaying proceedures when somebody else is holding the rope!
