Modern dance is one of the most innovative dance forms around. From Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, and Charles Weidman, to Merce Cunningham, Paul Taylor, Twyla Tharp, Mark Morris, modern dance has pushed dance as an art form to its edges and beyond. Modern dance is for the curious and strong-minded dancer who wants to perform or choreograph something different. Modern dance is for the artist who wants to innovate.
Jill Haney, teaches modern dance technique to 14-18 year olds at 4 technical levels, ranging from beginner to advanced. Jill welcomes teenagers with no dance training to advance levels of training. Spring Session runs March 31-June 13, and Placement Classes for students with prior dance training will be held March 24, 25, and 26.
The Studio is a new dance studio located in Middleton, MA, and owned and operated by Jill Haney, a modern dancer who trained and danced in Tucson and San Francisco. The facility is a wide open, warehouse space with 14 foot ceilings and an approximately 1200 square foot sprung floor.
