Notch Traveling Biergarten at Appleton Farms

Back by popular demand! The Trustees and Notch Brewing are partnering up again to bring you another series of family-friendly outdoor Biergartens. Relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of our gardens, farms, historic homes, and parks throughout the summer while enjoying one of Notch’s locally crafted session beers. Not just for grown-ups and beer drinkers – modeled after the popular European style Biergartens, it’s a family affair. Scavenger hunts and quests for children, property tours for adults, plus lawn games with plenty of room to spread out and explore for all.

This October, Notch will be at Appleton Farms for 3 days! Celebrate the start of Fall with a fantastic weekend filled with music and beer in our beautiful stone paddock. This family friendly event was a huge success last year and we can’t wait to bring it back!

MUSIC:

• Friday: Essex River Rounders - 6-8PM
• Saturday: Tree House Charlatans - 3:30-5:30PM
• Sunday:  - Creek River String Band - 3-5PM

FOOD:

• FRIDAY: Fatbelly BBQ
• SATURDAY: A&B Burger
• SUNDAY: Empanada Dadda
• Families are welcome to bring their own food as well!! Picnics go GREAT with beer!

ACTIVITIES:

• Enjoy lawn games and barnyard animals every day!
• See the cows being milked from 3:30-4:30PM.
• 20 Min Wagon rides will be first come first serve on:
  • Saturday from 3-5
  • Sunday from 2-4PM
  • Cost is $4 a person kids under 2 are free!

Founded in 2010 and influenced by German and Czech biergartens that serve as community hubs for all ages, Notch Brewery is known for its popular session beer and its recently opened, family-friendly tap room and biergarten located in downtown Historic Salem. The first brewing company in the U.S. to focus exclusively on the lighter, lower alcohol session style beer, Notch Brewery is community-focused and supports the local food movement by sourcing its barley and malt from Hadley, MA.
