This year at Home Sweet Home we are celebrating the architects and craftspeople who designed and built our historic properties. From grand mansions to humble colonials to mid-century modern masterpieces, the historic houses of the Trustees all have a story to tell. Come experience all the unique history and rich architecture contained within each home at this FREE event.
Join The Trustees and ReVision Energy this spring afternoon to get creative in The Stevens-Coolidge Place gardens. Offering kid-friendly garden experiences in 30 minute intervals, participants will enjoy viewing what spring has sprung with a knowledgeable guide as they meander through the gardens. Each tour will end with participants using the elements of the garden to create solar-powered art. We’ll harness the power of the sun using solar paper and water to create a nature-inspired piece of art. While your new creation dries, take time for a picnic or enjoy a friendly game of giant Jenga or corn hole on the lawn.
Come enjoy a Saturday night of music, food, drinks and fun at The Stevens-Coolidge Place! Bring lawn chairs or a picnic blanket and settle in for a wonderful summer evening with family and friends. Grab a drink from our beer and wine truck, grab food and dessert from the food trucks, explore the gardens, and play lawn games that will be set up around the grounds. But, above all, make sure you are ready to dance because this year’s Summer Picnic Concert features the funky stylings of Mother Ton.
Join The Trustees of Reservations at the Stevens-Coolidge Estate for a nature playgroup designed just for the little ones! To encourage outdoor play and familiarity with the natural world, a nature-based toddler playgroup will be held at the Stevens-Coolidge Place on every-other Tuesday, April through June.

Join us for the beloved family musical adventure, Willy Wonka at the Performing Arts Center at North Andover High School. 10 years ago Willy Wonka was Acting Out!’s very first full scale production. Close to 100 people joined us on the Andover Town Hall stage and performed for 4 full houses! In March 2019 we’ll celebrate this anniversary by bringing the magic back to even a larger venue (including some of the original cast!)
The Vernal Equinox marks the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, join a Trustees staff member on the trails at Ward Reservation to discover what signs of spring have already sprung.
Come hike at Ward Reservation with The Trustees. Start your Spring off on the right foot with this brisk morning hike at Ward Reservation. This guided hike on the reservation’s Blue Trail will offer scenic vistas of Boston and the unusual solstice stones arrangement at the top of Holt Hill, as well as panoramic skyline views from a large clearing at Elephant Rock at Boston Hill. Your knowledgeable guides can answer questions about the history of the property and its surrounding habitats.
Take a hike with Andover Village Improvement Society and enjoy cookies and hot chocolate around a campfire in the woods! All are welcome (except pets). Bring along a flashlight or headlamp, and park in front of the entrance at 491 South Main Street. If it rains, we'll cancel. Contact david@dargie.com with questions.
Looking for a way to get outside with the kiddos this February Vacation? Stop by The Stevens-Coolidge Place to follow our StoryWalk trail through the property! Our grounds are free and open to the public everyday. Simply enter the grounds, head left towards the beginning of the StoryWalk by the well behind the greenhouse and begin your adventure!
Note: this event has been canceled! What’s a Wild Rumpus you ask? Well it’s any sort of commotion with loud noise. It’s how we let loose and go wild. Sometimes winter can build up energy inside us and we simply must let it out! The Wild Rumpus Walk will allow just that. Beginning with a reading of Where the Wild Things are and building our own noise-makers, participants will then set off on a walk throughout The Stevens-Coolidge Place property to enjoy a good rumpus. This program will take place inside and outside, please dress for the weather. Recommended for ages 6-8.
