Join watercolorist Brenda Sloane in a monthly program that combines nature and art. We will start with a walk on the sanctuary to observe the topic of the month. We will then return to the Nature Center to create a follow-up work of art.

'Let's Go Fishing' is a Free Fun Family Day at the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge! This day log Family Event introduces kids and families to the world of fish and recreational fishing through fun hands-on activities and instruction. There will be a morning and afternoon session, making this a full day outing, so it's recommended that you pack a lunch and be ready to be outside all day!
Join The Trustees and Essex River Basin Adventures for a guided kayak paddle of the Crane Wildlife Refuge. During this specialty paddle, we will set off by boat in search of migrating horseshoe crabs in Essex Bay. Price includes kayak rental and equipment, tour guides, and launch fees. Kids will hear a story, then use clay to sculpt a character from the book! Hear the story "[amazon 978-0531070796 inline]" by Ursula LeGuin where a boy is rescued by his sister after being captured by trolls. After the story, local artist, storyteller and teacher Ann McCrea will help kids use modeling clay to sculpt a troll!

Gloucester Stage Youth Acting Workshops are a great place for kids to have fun and learn skills necessary in professional theatre! The workshops include basic acting techniques, theatre games, improvisation, movement, vocal and physical expression, non-verbal communication after physical expression, character study, storytelling, public speaking training, and a technical theater & stagecraft component.
