We'll peek at the stars, learn about nocturnal animal adaptations, and see what kind of wildlife we can uncover. We'll cap off the evening with s'mores roasted over the firepit at Joppa Flats Education Center.

How does a spider spin a web and not get caught in it? Come and find out the other ways these fascinating little animals use their magic threads.
Open to any middle school or high school band (two or more members) from anywhere on Cape Ann or beyond. No fee to enter. Deadline for registration is September 15. Five bands will be chosen to compete on Saturday, October 7th at the Congregational Church of Rockport. Top two winning bands play on Rockport New Year’s Eve!

Bring your telescopes, binoculars, or use ours as the Houghton Family and Manchester Public Library celebrate International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) on Wednesday, September 27th at 6:30 PM. We’ll have multiple scopes set up for you to use, and astro binoculars too. Light refreshments of moon pies, tang as well as moon maps, stickers, and other handouts will help us celebrate this great outdoor tradition at the library.
