The Crane Estate’s 2,100-acre property is a spectacular expanse of salt marsh and barrier beach habitat situated in Ipswich and Essex, MA between the Atlantic Ocean, Ipswich River, and Essex Bay. Castle Hill, homebase for SummerQuest, encompasses many acres of salt marsh and dune habitat, hiking trails, a stunning hilltop mansion and other grand buildings that were part of the summer estate of a wealthy Chicago industrialist, formal gardens, and an expansive lawn rolling a half a mile to the sea. Our program for ages 5–14 is inspired by this exceptional property and builds on The Trustees’ expertise in land conservation, historic landscape and cultural resource preservation, coastal ecology, and restoration.
With rolling grasslands, grazing livestock, vegetable gardens, an active barnyard, and miles of trails, Appleton Farms in Ipswich offers a uniquely immersive summer experience. Campers are introduced to Appleton’s working farm and adventurous landscape through exciting, authentic educational activities. Tower School's "Summer at Tower" program offers a dynamic and enriching experience for children aged 3 to 13, with an expanded schedule of nine one-week sessions running from June 16 through August 15, 2025. The program is designed to cater to various interests, featuring activities led by a diverse team of counselors, including artists, science enthusiasts, foodies, techies, teachers, and camp-loving college students. Each week is centered around a unique, creative theme, ensuring that multi-week campers enjoy a wide variety of experiences throughout the summer.
Looking for an enriching and engaging summer program for your child? Waring School in Beverly, Massachusetts, is excited to offer an exceptional photography workshop tailored for kids in grades 6-8! Running from July 8-12, 9am to noon, this workshop provides a unique opportunity for your child to explore "The Art and Science of Darkroom Photography" and "The Art of Film-Camera Photography." Montserrat College of Art Youth Academy is fun and challenging for students ages 8-11 (Minors) and an older group ages 12-15 (Majors). Daily classes will allow students to experience exciting creative endeavors while being introduced to a variety of techniques and skills.
Students may attend our Youth Arts Academy for a full day (9-11 am, 11:45 - 1:45 pm, 2-4 pm), or choose a morning class, mid-morning class, and/or afternoon class.

Crazy Cool Collage
Clip, cut, collect, compose, and collage creative constructions and assemblages made from a variety of materials. Student creations will include wall-sized drawings, sculptures with wood and found objects, as well as a combination of printmaking, photography, and magazine collage. We will look at the mixed mediums of Robert Rauschenberg, the cutting-edge pieces by the Twentieth Century’s greatest master of collage, Kurt Schwitters, and the crazy upside-down world of Julian Schnabel as we make and manipulate an artful array of free associations.
