This free, hands-on, community art experience is primarily geared toward children under 10 years of age and children must be accompanied by an adult. The line-up of projects this year include play-dough making, decorative wands, creating musical instruments, and Doodle Top drawing which captures a “playful art” theme for a celebration packed with fun.

The Festival by the Sea is an annual event hosted by the Manchester Division of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, this all-day extravaganza taps into the long-line of local talent with musical and artistic performers alike. Festival by the Sea is a celebration of the things that are synonymous with Cape Ann in the summertime: Art, Music & Food ! Booths will be spread throughout downtown Manchester and Masconomo Park. Your senses will be inspired by the beautiful art, extraordinary live music and the aromas of delicious, local foods.
Come by the side lawn of the Library to create a solar powered bug! Find out why bugs are attracted to light and how solar energy works to move your bug! Registration is required. If the weather is bad, we will contact you as we will divide the groups up to come at different times. Made possible in part with funds from the Friends of the Amesbury Library. For this school vacation week, travel across the world without leaving Salem by learning traditional Chinese paper cutting with local guest artist Zhonghe (Elena) Li on Monday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons. Join us for film screenings in Morse Auditorium on Friday, and challenge yourself all three days with a museum-wide dragon scavenger hunt!
Come play with a variety of building toys, including magnetic tiles and straws and connectors. Kids of all ages and abilities are welcome, but please take note that some of these building toys have small pieces. Drop in any time between 3:00 and 4:30 p.m. to participate.
Kids are invited to come to NPL to make their own custom birdfeeders. Make your neighborhood birds happy! We’ll create super-simple feeders with pipe cleaners & cereal.
Embark on a grand adventure with Dungeons & Dragons at the Sawyer Free Library! Create your character and venture on an epic quest with Dungeon Master Ephraim Weaver. All experience levels are welcome. Free pizza lunch will be provided. Space is limited. 5th-12th grade.
Sawyer Free Library has a fun filled Spring Egg Decorating craft session planned. Kids can decorate craft eggs here at the library to take home! We will paint, color, & decorate faux eggs (materials will be provided.) Registration is required. Register each child individually.
